My Musical Background

I love music and love to share it.

I have studied piano since the age of five, guitar since age 13. I have been singing since I was a young child, and studied with renowned voice teachers Kay Montgomery (USA), Anthea Haupt (SA), Andrea Catzel (SA and AUS) and Aramat Arnheim (IL).

"Got my My degrees":

1. Bachelor of Music Classical Piano and Composition 2005 UCT

2. Courses in Film Composition, Jazz improvisation, Music Theory: Los Angeles Valley College 2006-7

3. Masters Courses in Commercial Music: CSULA 2006-2007

4. Bachelor of Music in Education, with Teacher’s Certificate: Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance 2009

5. Masters of Music, Inter Disciplinary Studies 2015: Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance

In addition I have taken many private lessons with masters from around the world, had a rock band called "Displaced People" in Los Angeles, have gigged a lot, and played lots of music around campfires. Music is never-ending and I am always seeking.

I love to share my knowledge - and help make music accessible and tangible. I believe in the power of consistency and hard work.

My Story

Born in Los Angeles, raised in Cape Town, and currently residing in Israel. I am a hybrid of cultures, who is blessed to have friends from many parts of the world. I aspire to see past labels - and just into the soul of a person.

I am a musician. Music was always an integral part of my life since I was a baby. I have a vivid memory watching my father say Kiddush in shul when I was a very young child. He was a great rabbi with a beautiful voice. I have essentially been trained in singing and leading prayer from birth.

After high school, I went on a gap year to Israel, where I didn't have a piano for a few months. I started to slightly lose my mind and went in search of my beloved instrument in the middle of Jerusalem where I was living at the time. I knocked at the door of a school and they led me to a basement with an old piano. I sat there for hours improvising, finally feeling I could express myself as I needed to. It was at that point that I changed my college application from medicine to music. And I haven't looked back since.
