The Last Concert (get ready to dance :-) )

BS”D

Well - as you may know, I am a singer-songwriter who has studied music for 30 of my 35 years on earth.

I love music and have worked exceptionally hard to be able to call myself a musician.

Through my studies, I have blessedly gotten married, and had two beautiful daughters by the Grace of God.

There is music, and there is a music industry. I am whole-heartedly a part of the first community, and not really at all in the second.

Normally when one releases a record, one invests huge amounts of money to market that record.

I chose to invest heavily in the recording, but chose to put close to zero budget on marketing.

Why, you may ask?

Because I am trying to chase another dream at the same time: namely, to one day own a home with my husband that has a garden and my children can play in it.

I do not have the resources to invest in both dreams, so I chose not to gamble our savings chasing an elusive-carrot dream that may never come to be.

Nelson Mandela and my father Rabbi David Hoffman, both of blessed memory

Once I had lofty dreams of saving the world, changing it for the better, inspired by my two heroes Mr. Nelson Mandela and my father, Rabbi David Hoffman, both of blessed memory - these themes come out strongly in my songwriting.

Today my dream is that my daughters will go to sleep at a decent hour, and sleep through the night.

Things have changed (for now, the idealist just needs a nap :-) )

I still believe that music can change the world, and maybe just listening to a song can bring someone good energy for the day and thus help the person thereby the world.

"If you save one person, you save the world" (Pirkei Avot)

סורה חושך הלאה שחור, סורה מפני האור

The message of the Chanuka song:

"Flee Darkness, Go away Black, Flee from the Light"

Music can bring vibrations of Light to the world. (as well as Darkness.. but that is the subject of another blog)

This is what inspires my art - just trying to bring good vibrations, light and hope to the world. To help people to connect to the One who Encompasses All.

So with that in mind, you are each invited to my last concert (for a while) to celebrate music, loved ones and dreaming. It is my 35th birthday present to myself and I would love for you to be a part of it! :-)

The concert is at a stunning venue in Namal Tel Aviv (Beit Hayotzer), with plenty of parking, clean bathrooms, a beautiful piano - and the original band of the album for the first time live!!!

I hope we all are uplifted by the music.

Sunday 20 January 2019, 20:30: Buy tickets here.

Lots of love,

Michal

PS. The reason for the break will be revealed in a few months B”H.

It is very happy :-)
